Installation Information

Furnace Factory Direct Inc. sells all of its major equipments with installation. The reason for this, is that qualified technicians are required in order to provide quality installations. Each of our installation teams are lead by a team leader who is a certified technician. In order to provide a quality installation in as quick as possible time, we require that the homeowner remove any items that are in the way of our installers. The reason for this is because they are not trained movers, and should not be handling your personal items. Exception: if you are unable to move certain items, the team leader will decide whether to move the item(s), or hire a moving company (at the homeowner's expense) to do so.

Typical installation services:

What is my new system going to look like?

    • Exhaust Pipe takes the exhaust to outside your home for safe disposal.
    • Plenum adapter joins your new furnace to your existing ductwork. This is custom-fabricated to fit your installation.
    • Gas line brings in natural gas to your furnace in a safe steel pipe.
    • High-voltage junction box connects all of the high-voltage devices together in a CSA-certified enclosure.
    • Insulated combustion air duct with vapour barrier brings in combustion air for the furnace and gas-fired water heater, while preventing condensation from forming on the duct.
    • Cold air trap stops cold air from "falling" into the basement. Ask our energy consultants for more information on this.
    • Air conditioner condensate is collected by the condensate pump for disposal.
    • The Goodman high-efficiency gas furnace's condensate is collected by the condensate pump for disposal.
    • The humidifier's overflow is collected by the condensate pump for disposal.
    • The condensate pump collects all three sources of fluid and pumps it via the condensate line to drain for safe disposal.
    • Return air plenum brings the air from the house to be heated/cooled/filtered/humidified/dehumidified etc...
    • Electronic Air Cleaner uses magnetic fields to trap particles as low as 0.01 microns (1/2,540,000 of an inch)!
    • Media Prefilter stops large particles from loading-up the electronic air cleaner, thus extending its efficiency (requires less cleaning).
    • Combustion air inlet brings in combustion air for your gas appliances. In this case, an Goodman high-efficiency gas furnace and a gas water heater.
    • Furnace Exhaust safely disposes the natural gas exhaust gases. Homeowner should periodically check this area for snow buildup.
